Case-mate has announced the release of a “groundbreaking” new product designed to protect your iPhone, iPod touch, iPod classic (80GB and 160GB) or BlackBerry Curve from scratches using a military-grade Scotchgard film from 3M that was originally designed to protect Apache helicopter blades during Desert Storm. The film is also completely clear, so there are no bulky, ugly cases to contend with.

Windows 7´s UI is going to debut tonight at All things D so check back preiodically.

Apple has just filed a patent for an in-screen / device-covering solar film for it’s gadgets. Apple wants to cover the entire device with the solar cells.
Unfortunately, with current efficiencies for thin-film solar (the only kind that could be semi-transparent) it’s unclear that there would be much benefit. Unless you were planning on leaving your iPod in the sun all day long, you’d still need to charge the old fashioned way.
Unless Apple starts making flat gadgets with a large surface area….and that doesn’t seem to be the direction they’re going.

Apple will announce their new model at the WWDC Keynote on June 9th. The second-generation iPhone will be available worldwide right after the launch, and not at year’s end, as previously thought. The new model will also herald new sales policies in some countries.
In Spain, for example, the 3G iPhone will be available for sale at the June 18th grand opening of Telefonica’s (movistar for all those living in Latin America) megastore—an Apple Store-like shop located in the company’s historical building in Madrid’s Gran Vía— with nationwide availability right the next day or after a few hours. The other European countries with iPhone availability will have similar launch schedules.
According to another source involved in the launch, the 3G iPhone will no longer be available at a fixed price point—at least in some countries, and its launch will also bring new sales policies, although these have not been completely specified yet.
…great and I just saved up enough money to buy the old one.
A geeky friend of mine stumbles upon this stupid article about the weirdest USB devices ever created on (http://gadgets.fosfor.se/), they have Grills, Mitts, boots and much more… I actually read it and i thought it was very cool.

This is… weird. Apparently, in the upcoming Metal Gear Solid 4 (never heard of it), you can have a fifth-gen iPod in your inventory for some reason. Also, there appears to be a girl using a Sony Ericsson W62S flip phone as well. I’m hoping you can kill guards by jamming the iPod into their throats, but I’m not holding out hope. Hit the jump for a couple more screenshots of the sweet, sweet product placement in action.

The design is from 25togo Design Studios, and as hard as we try (which is not that hard) we can’t find a price tag or a way to purchase one. You can always email them and see if they’ll sell you one manually, but they’re in the country which has a country code of 886 (Taiwan), so be prepared to pay a little extra for shipping.
I have to get one of these.
