A showcase of nonsense

Speaking during the week, Marvel Vice Chairman Peter Cuneo was asked about the possible status of a fourth installment to the Spider-Man franchise. He confirmed that Sony has indeed made the payment to review their rights to make the film.
“As far as Spider-man 4, it’s really up to Sony, it’s up to them, most likely scenario is 2010 or 2011 but we can’t speak for them and I think, that we don’t know. They have given us their re-up payment for that film so you know they’re going to make it within a reasonable timeframe. Sony may be looking at some issues with the cast and so on, I think they have to make some decisions.”

After Hugh Hefner saw Robert Downey Jr play Tony Stark in “IRON MAN” he quickly decided that RDJR is the man to play the king of the bunnies. There is a bipic of Hugh Hefner in the works and Robert Downey JR is on the top of the list for the lead role.
It’s not a 100 percent done deal, but sources say Hefner has signed off on Downey to play him in the movie, which has the working title Playboy.
Hef reportedly took a liking to Downey after seeing Iron Man and “admiring his humor and skill in showing his vulnerability

Sure looks funny to me.

IMDB report:
Eva Mendes may have checked herself into rehab in January to prepare for a new movie, in which she plays a Spanish drug lord. The 30-year-old actress entered Utah’s Cirque Lodge to “proactively” attend “to some personal issues”, her representative explained at the time. The move shocked Hollywood, until Mendes landed a role alongside Josh Hartnett and Sir Ben Kingsley in Queen of the South, which follows her character Teresa Mendoza, who flees Mexico for Spain when her drug-runner boyfriend is murdered. Gossips are speculating she may have been researching the role in rehab - a theory backed by leading acting coach John Kirby. He tells Star magazine, “It’s not unusual at all for an actor or actress to go to the extreme of checking into rehab to prepare for a character. In fact, I would encourage that for my students, because you want to fully immerse yourself in the role.”
…talk about killing two birds with one stone.

Producers of “Quantum of Solace” are apparently talking to Beyonce about singing the next Bond theme. The song was written by Amanda Ghost and Beyonce would also work with Bond composer John Barry.
…and people were questioning her for dropping Destiny’s Child.

BBC is reporting that not only is Christian Bale signed on to play the adult John Connor for Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins (ugh), but he’s also signed on for two more movies after that! I assume that the only way that this would happen is if the first film does really well. McG is still on board to direct, and the film is still aiming at a May 22, 2009 release date.

The Spider-Man movie franchise has definitely brought Sony a lot of good press, despite the lackluster outing the third installment made. However with Tobey Maguire playing Peter Parker, aka, Spider-Man, I’m not 100% certain what they were expecting (it should always have been Topher Grace).
Now a new scoop out of Cinematical has reinvigorated Spider-Man fans the world over, with the possibility that future Spider-Man movies 4 and 5 could be filmed at the same time.
The news goes that within the last few weeks, James Vanderbilt turned in a working draft of a fourth installment for the Spider-Man franchise. According to their source, “his story arc has encompassed two films, making Spider-Man 5 shootable at the same time. The studio saw dollar signs and is in the process of reworking his deal to snatch up the story arc.”
Naturally there is no word on what the story arc would be, and there will likely be no confirmations on any of this for some time, as it appears both sides are still trying to work out the minutia of it all. But it definitely adds some spark to the Spider-Man franchise once again.
But just because there is no official word doesn’t mean that we can’t all theorize like crazy. For my bet, having spent a lot of time with Spider-Man over my life, I would suggest a paired installment would weave a storyline including the return of a goblin of some sort — there always were a lot of them — and the Kingpin.
We’ve got a comments section below, so make sure you tell us who you think the villains will be in a possible paired fourth and fifth Spider-Man installment.

A few hours ago we posted a report that Cameron Diaz had gone bald for her part in the movie “My Sisters Keeper” here is another picture of her bald.
…Hell I’d still do her

slashfilm.com reports:
Matthew McConaughey is not in consideration for the Captain America movie.

slashfilm.com reports:
Marvel Studios President of Production Kevin Feige revealed today that the Captain America movie will be a period film, set during World War II. I’ve never read any Captain America, but some of my friends who are really into the series have insisted that a WWII period setting would be the only way to do the story justice.
This basically confirms that Marvel will be sticking close to the original origin story which involved Steve Rogers volunteering to be a test subject in Operation: Rebirth, a top-secret defense project for the U.S. Army. Rogers took a Super-Soldier serum which altered his physiology, turning him into a “nearly perfect human being”. Unable to duplicate the process, the United States government turned Rogers into a superhero who served as “both a counter-intelligence agent and a propaganda symbol to counter Nazi Germany’s head of terrorist operations, the Red Skull.”
The First Avenger: Captain America (and not Captain America: The First Avenger, which sounds infinitely better) is scheduled to hit theaters in May 6th 2011, just weeks before Marvel’s superhero team-up film The Avengers hits screens in July. It’s assumed that the film will likely end with a cliffhanger. In the comic series The Avengers discovered Steve Rogers’ body in a block of ice in the North Atlantic years after his supposed death, and were able to revive him. It’s assumed that a similar situation will probably happen to bridge the two movies, especially considering that The Avengers takes place in modern day. But Feige promises that you won’t need to see any of the other films to understand The Avengers:
“Each of them have to stand on their own,” Feige said. “You won’t have to have seen any of the films to understand The Avengers… but it will help.”
